    Why this exists

The tip calculator only prices the gratuity on one check. This page takes money several people already laid down, splits it by weight, and lists the fewest transfers that settle the table.

When the cents do not divide evenly, the leftover cent goes to the earliest person. 100.00 across three people is 33.34, 33.33, and 33.33, which adds back to 100.00.

    1. 01How to use it

Enter a name, what they paid, and a weight. Weight 1 is the usual seat. A couple sharing one seat can be 2.

Sample is A at 86.00, B at 0.00, and C at 40.00. Copy takes the settlement, and Share keeps those people in the link.

    2. 02What you get

The large number is the total, 126.00. When the weights match, 42.00 appears beside it.

The bar compares what someone paid with their share. Recent tables stay in this browser.

      EnteredA 86.00, B 0.00, C 40.00

      86.00 A paid
      0.00 B paid
      40.00 C paid
      33.34 First share of 100.00
    3. 03Worth knowing

Paid stays between 0.00 and 1000000.00, and a weight stays between 0 and 20. All weights at 0 cannot be split.

If you still need the tip itself, use the tip calculator first, then type the amounts people actually handed over. Nothing is sent to a server.

How this page works it out

This page splits money people have already paid. If A paid 86.00, B paid 0.00, and C paid 40.00 with weights 1, 1, 1, the total is 126.00 and each share is 42.00.

A is owed 44.00. B sends 42.00 and C sends 2.00, and the table is closed. Splitting 100.00 three ways gives the leftover cent to the first person: 33.34, 33.33, 33.33.

The tip calculator only prices a gratuity. Here you type what each person actually handed over. The figures stay in this browser and nothing is sent to a server.
