How this page works it out
This page adds a percent to an amount and splits it by the number of people. 50 plus 15 percent makes a tip of 7.50 and a total of 57.50. Split by 2, each person pays 28.75. The note is written 50, 15, 2. In the United States a restaurant tip is often 15, 18, or 20 percent.
A percent of 0 leaves a tip of 0, so 50 split by 2 is 25.00 each. With one person and 20 percent the total is 60.00. Each share is rounded to the cent. 10 split by 3 is 3.33 each, and three shares add to 9.99.
The amount is above 0 and up to 1,000,000. Percent runs from 0 to 100 and people from 1 to 100. Tax is not added. There is no currency mark, so the same figures work for dollars, euros, or won. The sum stays in this browser, and closing the tab clears it. Nothing is sent to a server.
