What is Kitharu?

What it is

Kitharu is a site of small tools that finish one job and then get out of the way. Shrinking a photo, joining a document, estimating a Korean housing tax, or turning a cURL command into code each has its own address.

There is no installer and no account. Open the address and type in the fields on that page.

What is here

The tools are grouped as time, photos, documents, text, create, code, money, and work. On the home page, pick a group or search by name.

  • Photos cover cropping and compression.
  • Money covers a discount, a margin, VAT, the 3.3 percent withholding, savings interest, acquisition tax, and brokerage caps.
  • Work covers adding hours, annual leave, severance, unemployment benefit, and night or overtime pay.
  • Code covers JSON, JWT, regular expressions, SQL, cURL, HMAC, CSV, URLs, hashes, and UUID-style identifiers.

Where files and numbers go

A photo you choose, text you paste, and an amount you type stay in that browser. The contents of a tool are not sent to the Kitharu server, and the result file is not stored there.

A cookie remembers the language, and a short access log helps protect the site. The privacy page states that limit.

Advertising

The tools are meant to stay free. When advertising is on, it appears only in the places set aside for it, and you do not have to click an ad. Please do not ask anyone to click an ad, and do not click your own ads on purpose.

While no ad unit is configured, the pages do not show an empty advertisement box.

What a calculated number is not

Acquisition tax, brokerage, VAT, the 3.3 percent withholding, severance, unemployment benefit, and night pay split an amount with the formula written on that page. The figure is a check before you file or pay. The statute, the contract, and the workplace rules come first.

A page that explains a Korean rule in another language is an explanation of that Korean rule. It is not that country's tax calculator.
