Home Annual leave

Annual leave

Under one year, one day accrues each full month. After that, 15 days grow by one every two years.

Today is filled in at first

Why this exists

Leave renews on the start date. A company that grants leave on a fiscal new year needs its own rule beside this screen.

A day such as 31 January that a short month does not have moves to the first of the next month, so one month can run longer.

  1. 01How to use it

    Choose the start date.

Change the reference date or leave today in place.

Copy the result and the service, the current grant, the total, and the next grant go together.

  2. 02What you get

Five full months give 5 days now, and the next day arrives one month later.

Six years and eight months give 17 days now, and the next grant is 18 days at seven years.

    Entered2020-03-01

    Five months 5 days
Before one year 11 days, then 15
    6 years 8 months 17 days and total 107
31 January Next is 1 March
  3. 03Worth knowing

    The grant is min(25, 15 + floor((years − 1) / 2)). Year one and year two are both 15 days.

Adding one month to 31 January lands on 1 March. Even in a leap year, the 31st is not in February.

The total adds each year's grant after the first 11 days.

An absence can make the real count differ from this screen.
