Why this exists

The calorie calculator estimates a day’s energy, and BMI is a ratio of height and weight. This page estimates a one-rep max from a weight you lifted more than once.

Epley multiplies the weight by 1 plus reps divided by 30. 100 kg for 5 reps is 100 times 35/30, rounded in grams to 116.67. Brzycki is 36 divided by 37 minus the reps, which is 112.50, and the mean of the two is 114.58.

  1. 01How to use it

Edit the weight and the reps, or press − 2.5 kg, + 2.5 kg, − 1 rep, and + 1 rep. Press Epley, Brzycki, or Mean and the large number switches to that formula, and a line says what the button just did.

The sample is 100 kg and 5 reps. The table is 100, 90, 80, 70, and 60 percent of the formula you picked. With Epley those are 105.00, 93.33, 81.67, and 70.00. Kilograms and pounds rerun the same number in the unit you picked. Copy takes that table.

  2. 02What you get

The large number is 116.67. The line beside it shows Brzycki 112.50 and the mean 114.58 together.

One rep skips the formula and returns the weight itself, 100.00. Recent results stay in this browser.

  3. 03Worth knowing

Reps run from 1 to 12. Above that the two formulas drift apart, so this page refuses them. A 1RM is an estimate, not a diagnosis.

The same 100 kg is 220.46 lb, and Epley is then 257.20 lb. The BMI calculator and the calorie calculator look at the whole body. This page only estimates one lift. Nothing is sent to a server.
